Appointments

Before booking an appointment with one of our clinicians, it may be worth looking at our self-referrals page to check if a surgery appointment is needed for the service you require.

How to Book an Appointment

You can make an appointment in the following ways:

Chosen Health Care Professional

Appointment with the surgery doctors, nurses and health care assistants can be made up to eight weeks in advance. Where possible you will be booked with the health care professional of your choice, however this might not always be guaranteed. Our Health Care professionals see a large number of patients in an average week so please be flexible when booking an appointment.

Types of Appointments

All routine GP appointments are 10 minutes long, where we will be dealing with one problem only. A separate routine appointment for a different day will need to be booked for each individual problem.

For more information, please visit our Types of Appointments page.

Home Visits

All patients requesting an appointment will be seen in the surgery unless they have a medical condition that makes it impossible. In these circumstances the patient will be seen at home. Please visit our Home Visit page for more information.

Medication Reviews

Your medication will be reviewed by a GP or pharmacist every six to twelve months. This is to ensure you are still taking the correct medication. As a result of this review, you may be contacted by the surgery to attend for a routine appointment with a GP or with a nurse for bloods. Sometimes this will be appropriate for a routine phone call.

If you have any concerns or queries about your medication, please contact the pharmacist in the first instance.

Cancelling an Appointment

If you are unable to make your appointment, please complete our online form or ring as soon as possible, preferably giving at least 24 hours notice, so someone else can take advantage of your appointment slot.

Sometimes the receptionists are able to deal with your queries for you, so do not hesitate to ask them for help or information.
