Repeat Prescriptions

What is a Repeat Prescription?

A repeat prescription is a continuous supply of certain medication that you can routinely order for a set period of time without having to see a doctor.

The doctor will arrange for this medication to be available for you to order for a clinically appropriate length of time and you will then require a review.

We review any regular medication on a repeat prescription annually and wherever possible the doctor will do this without you having to attend the surgery.

If you have been advised you are due a medication review, please submit a Klinik explaining this.

How do I order my Repeat Prescription?

Patients on long-term medication can order repeat prescriptions in a number of ways:

  • Klinik, under prescriptions – this is for repeats or regular medication ONLY
  • NHS App
  • Bringing your prescription to the surgery – ticking the medication you require, or filling out one of our medication request forms in reception

We do not accept prescription requests by telephone. Request your medication 7-10 days before you run out and please allow three full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

Repeat Dispensing

If you or someone you care for uses the same medicines regularly, you may be eligible for Repeat Dispensing direct from the local pharmacist. This means you won’t have to visit the surgery every time you need more medicine. Please ask the doctor or nurse if you are able to benefit from the service at your next appointment.
